Okay hotel to stay at. The other ones on base are nicer but we had our dogs and I think this is the only dog friendly one.
This place is filthy...deserves 0 stars! I knew once I walked in the first room and it didn't smell like it had been cleaned for weeks that I would have problems. I can't believe they have the audacity to put anyone in this place. I am in my second room since arriving earlier today. Stained carpets, bugs, dirty tub, dirty sink, non working refrigerator, moldy ice bucket top, lock broken on the door, broken window, broken/stained chairs, etc. The cleanest thing in this room just might be the television and dvd player...maybe. I can go on and on about how subpar Stinson hall is and how someone, not in their right mind of course, thought it would be okay to house Soldiers here. I know being in the Army you're expected to adapt to your surroundings but come on this is not a deployment. I have no choice but to stay in this madness for two weeks since I'm TDY and if I decide to go elsewhere I will have to foot the bill. Although it has crossed my mind and may still do it. Trust me if you have to stay here, make sure you bring bug spray, cleaning supplies, and allergy medication because you will need it. There's plenty of mold and dust waiting just for you. If you care anything about your health and being in a clean environment, you will have to break a sweat and get the job done yourself. I just broke down and cleaned it myself. Requesting another room would be a waste of time at this point. I doubt anyone comes over here to check these rooms at all especially when the only room service you receive is the trash being taken out and bed fixed. Plus, there is no room service on the weekends when it's needed the most. I hope someday this place gets updated by completely tearing it down and building a brand new building. Well I'll end this on a positive note...the wifi is decent.
Poor condition: Bath fan broken, Toilet is "gas station urinal" style. That is; no lid and a metal handle on a pole to flush. Good luck keeping kids and/or pets out; it doesn't take much water for either to drown. The tiny sink is clogged and hasn't been cleaned, though it appears that someone made a halfhearted attempt to smear the prior occupant's toothpaste all over the faucet. There is a mold smell from drain. The bathroom door is mounted too low and scrapes the floor. Or maybe it scrapes the floor because the top hinge isn't screwed into the doorframe. It's hard to tell which is cause and which is effect when there's so much wrong. The tub has not been cleaned, and there is dirt or something in the floor grout. Stains all over the carpet, dirt behind the door and rust on the wall by the hinges. The chairs are wobbly and do not feel secure. Water stains in the cabinets under the sink. Unit comes with a non operative dorm room micro fridge. I thought it was just turned off, I set it to as cold as it would go, but it isn't cooling. Room is infested with gnats, which keep the cat entertained. There are no blankets for the bed, only sheets. I guess it's a good thing the heat keeps running.
Needs updated
I have the same issue as the other poster my sink is clogged the toilet is subpar at best. The shower does not stay hot, the refrigerator is working at the moment but it doesn't seem likely to keep going. I have had the door batteries for the lock changed twice since I have been here and I'm guessing within a week I will need them changed again. IHG should come and look at this place as it is definitely substandard even for them. If you're going to stay here on Fort Gordon you would be better just living in the barracks and not paying for anything at all as this is the worst hotel if you can call it that I have ever stayed in. To make things even better the ice machine in the laundry room does not work . I have requested maintenance on it they said it's running but it still gives no ice . Get it fixed... If you don't I'm sure the roaches and other bugs that I have found since being here will finally tear this place down and all of the stain carpet will go with it.
Most units are NOT handicapped accessable. There is No elevator despite having handicapped parking spots. There are no luggage carts. Small rooms, no clean storage. The outlets for charging devices are for the most part, behind the furniture. Keys did not work, we sat outside in the cold for half an hour waiting for them to bring working keys. Definitely *far* substandard to other IHG hotels I've stayed at; it kind of feels like they know they can treat the military like something less than a customer and get away with it because they have the contract. Recommend staying off post if you have the option.
Heat/AC is a weird combo device where you set your ideal temperature, then it runs until you are freezing or sweltering and shut it off. That is, if you can stand the volume. The blower registered at 77dB on low. ( 80dB is equivalent to a freight train at 50 feet, and can cause hearing damage if exposed longer than 8 hours)
